Do I commit or quit??

How do I know when the obstacles are just part of the game? Or is it just too hard? You do have to push sometimes, but how do I know when it’s the right time to push or it’s just time to give up, quit and move on?
This is a big juicy question but the fact is that there are so many factors that make every situation unique, sometimes the smart thing to do is quit and then sometimes you have to dig deep and commit. I don’t have all the answers but here are some tips that may help you.
1. Sometimes quitters do win. The old saying that “winners never quit” is total BS and not always true. To stay with something because you feel like it or you don’t want to look like a ‘loser’ is not a smart strategy. So I’m going to give you the power of positive quitting. This is when you realise you’ve gone as far as you can go with a particular project and it’s not smart to keep going. Cut your losses and redirect your time and resources into another direction.
2. Sometimes we have a ton of money, time or ego invested in the project so we don’t want to let it go. But if every time you start to think about letting this thing go and you get into all kinds of mental & emotional turmoil then it’s going to make it lot easier to just eat those costs and let it go.
3. We all know things in life can get hard, right? We can all agree on that. Its OK, not everything always flows sometimes it gets hard. Don’t believe it when people say if it’s really right for you it will be easy and it will happen, flow and unfold. BS, sometimes you may just need to dig in and push through, or maybe take a little break or change your approach.
2 strategies to help you find clarity
The 10 year test
Ask yourself 10 years in the future will you regret quitting this project right now? It may just be teaching you a lot and it’s time to move on, or will you be crying over the fact that you quit? Recognise if this is a true soul goal or something on your journey that’s taking you to something bigger? So tap into your heart and really pay attention to how will you feel in 10yrs time. It’s a great test. Your feelings will guide you if you have the courage to tap into them and listen.
Ask for guidance
Whether you mediate, seek counsel, pray, or have another spiritual practice? The point is plug into a higher power, ask for some help I do it all the time. You have to be open to receiving the signs, whether it’s an email, hearing something on TV, or by a person, a call from friend or you get an intuitive flash. My point is if you don’t ask you won’t receive.
Be careful who you listen to, even your great well-meaning friends that you love and who do want the best for you. You still need to wait until you feel at “peace” before taking action.
