What are your desires?
What makes your heart sing, allow yourself permission to seek this out and to daydream.
Is it for a deeper improved relationship with your husband? More connected time with your kids? More fun (ie joy) in your life? Do you desire to leave behind a legacy? Have more money in the bank? Get ahead further in your business? Have a job you love? Have a purpose? More time for you? Escape to a magical idyllic island? Or to be happy and content with the life you currently have? There are so many things we could be desiring - so what’s yours?
If you know then that’s fantastic news. So, are you in that space or on your way? If not, what’s holding you back? Allow yourself to ask the tough questions as to what you could be doing better, where you need help and then be diligent to action what you discover.
If you are one that never allows yourself to daydream, maybe it appears foolish, maybe you’ve never thought about it, or you have not had the time? Then I urge you to give it ago. Put aside 20 minutes and daydream a little, stir up some excitement and desire within you see it as possible just for a moment without all the reasons why it may not be right now. Trust me I know all the excuses. I’ve heard many and I was “Queen of the buts” and to me they were justified and real. Our natural tendency is our default thinking “the battle within our mind” - just don’t go there.
The key once you know that this desire is from deep within you then time is to move it from a daydream to becoming real, so action something in that direction.
Four steps to help you move from visualising your desire to making it real
Step 1 BEGIN: Daydream and see your desire, put yourself in the picture of it. Then commit to now on only to think and speak positively on this. Keep doing this every day. Do it with intention and believe you’ll begin to know that you know that you can. Say out loud I can do this, this is mine. Deliberately rewiring the brain is powerful.
Step 2 CREATE: Create a vision board of the desire or if you are like me, write it up with positive descriptive words leaving nothing out. When you read it to yourself ensure you see it and believe it and it must excite you. Put it up somewhere visible to you, so its constantly in front of you.
Step 3 ACTION: Depending what your desire is then either create goals around to move into an action plan, put it in your schedule, or speak if need be to the relevant people that may be part of this desire of yours - like your boss at work, hubby, kids?? Get all on the same page. If it’s something that will require time, then block out time to work on this. If you need money then create a budget move some money around, tighten up in some area of spending, think how can I gain extra money? Then open a new account and save and do not despise the days of small beginnings. Ask who can I connect with? Who could help me in this or who could I learn from? Who is doing what I wish to achieve or do? Do you need training or further study?
Step 4 GO: Just Get Going!! Have Faith - You CAN DO IT
Maybe you are saying “why bother?” Two reasons I’ll give you:
- You are so worth it!
- Life is short so ensure you are living it the way that is truth for you.
What will you do today?
